Oh no. Hilarious- but I had the same issue with okonomiyaki, something I was previously obsessed. I’ve even had to remove some of the photos because the pain runs too deep. It’s harder for you though, because it will be everywhere, thinking it is invited back into your like.

Andrew, we only split up two days ago and the pain is too fresh. I can’t leave the house. I’m not ready to eat other grains yet either. I’m just sticking to bread. At least you can’t recognise the grains that go into bread, it’s nice and impersonal. Bit like sleeping with a hooker I guess. Not that I’ve done that. *cough*

It’s always the first time AFTER the break-up that’s hardest – particularly if rice is looking fabulous, and your cous cous is looking a little mushy….

Having taken stock of wat I had been eating over the last few years, rice and the other relatives- pasta, bread and even uncle pizza are all on the way out.’

Taking Rice’s side here!

It is not poor rices fault that he wasn’t properly prepared for this encounter with you. He needs care and love and the right amount of TLC given to him so that the ugly friends that often hang around him go away.

You need to spend more quality time with Rice in order for him to not back stab you. Maybe next time try adding a little extra to the time you spend with rice so his friends go away.

In the end, rice is like a child that you need to nurture otherwise they will grow up and kill you in your sleep!

Lol – great post, I too have been betrayed by rice and now it only visits for curry night. And occasionally Risotto night. Now my affections lay solely with Pasta and Cous Cous
